9 Days Safari to Western Uganda

This tour will take you to Murchison falls national park, Kibale forest national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi national park and lake Mburo national park.

Following your flight from the place of origin, you will land in Uganda at the famous Entebbe airport located on the shores of Lake Victoria on the magical Entebbe peninsular. The brightening tropical sun and fresh air emerging from the second largest fresh water lake in the world – Lake Victoria offers you a natural welcome to the pearl of Africa! From the immigration to secure your visa, you find company representative at the arrival waiting area who will brief you about Uganda and the safari in particular before transferring to Murchison falls national park that is if you arrive early in Uganda. Wake up very early in the morning and have breakfast. After you will go on an early morning game drive to catch up with the wild animals while on their way to hunt for what to eat. This game drive will give you an insight of various animals which include herds of elephants, school of buffalos, Kobs, bush bucks, hyenas, water bucks, giraffes, lions, jackals, and many more. After lunch you will have an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile to the bottom of Murchison falls. This 3-hour boat cruise will also give you an opportunity to view aquatic animals and many bird species. Animals likely to be viewed include, bathing hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and elephants wondering on the banks of the Nile river. This will be one of the highlights of your safari. After breakfast, you will have a second game drive in search for animals which were missed while on the previous game drive and after depart Murchison falls national park for Kibale national park which is the primate capital of the world. The diversity and density of primates in Kibale is the highest in Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the chimpanzee our close relative. Kibale’s 1500 chimpanzees represent Uganda’s largest population of this endangered primate. The forest is the home to East Africa’s largest population of the threatened red colobus and the rare I’Hoest’s monkey. Other primates include the black and white colored, red tailed and blue monkeys, grey checked Mangabey, Olive baboon, bush baby and Potto. Lunch will be enroute

After breakfast, you will head to the information center at 8 am and after you will start your journey in Kibale forest to trek for distant cousins the chimpanzees a walk that will also give you a chance to see other primates like monkeys, baboons, a variety of birds, butterflies and many plants. After you will have lunch and, in the afternoon, you will have bird watching in the Bigodi wetland a home to a variety of bird species and monkeys. Dinner and overnight stay

After breakfast, depart Kibale national park for Queen Elizabeth national park the most famous park in Uganda arriving just in time for lunch. After lunch, have a unique boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which joins lake Edward and lake George. While on the boat cruise, expect to see hippos, crocodiles, birds, elephants wondering on the shores and many more. This boat cruise is an excellent platform for photography. You can opt to go for a night game drive to look for nocturnal or animals which are active at night and these include grazing hippos, leopards and many more. Dinner and overnight stay

After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive in the northern part of the park on the Kisenyi track. This is the best time to see a variety of animals in the park as many of them go to hunt for the day’s meal. Animals to be viewed include lions, leopards giant forest hog, cape buffalos, elephants, Defenssa, water bucks, Uganda cob, bush bucks, Topis and many more. You will also visit the Ishasha sector to search for the tree climbing lions. After, you will have the whole afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart to queen Elizabeth national park. This park is a biodiversity, mountainous area found in south west Uganda. Its home to many trees and fern species. This is also the Uganda’s national park where you can find the two big apes i.e. the mountain gorillas and the chimpanzees. (permits not included in the cost). The journey will take you around 5 to 6 hours. Dinner and overnight stay.

Wake up early in the morning and at 7:45am, you will be at the information center for a brief briefing and at around 8:30am, start the trekking for mountain gorillas. The walking can take you 1-9 hours depending on where you find the gorillas. Have a full hour with the mountain gorillas while they feed, play, associate with their young ones which is unforgettable experience. In the evening you will depart Bwindi for lake Mburo national park. This is a 5 to 6 hours journey via Mbarara. Dinner and overnight stay.

Wake up early in the morning game drive in this park. While on the safari, expect to see groups of zebras, giraffes, eland which is the biggest antelope, Uganda Kobs, Topis, duikers, giraffes, and many more. After lunch, you will go for a boat cruise along lake Mburo. Here you will see different aquatic wildlife and birds. After, you will depart lake Mburo national park for Kampala for an overnight stay of for Entebbe to catch up with you flight. Dinner and overnight stay payable by clients.

TRANSPORTATION

Standard 4*4 safari van

Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4*4 safari vans customized for game drive and photography. Each safari van comes with professionally trained driver guide and fuel for the whole safari. Our safari vans have viewing hatches and each client is entitled to a window seat. Our vans can take up to eight people.

Upgrade: 4*4 luxury safari land cruiser

We have the latest land cruisers each driven by professionally trained driver guides and fuel. They have pop up roofs for proper game viewing and photography. They come with a small fridge for cooling your drinking water while on safari (which is always provided while in the vehicle). They have inverters for charging small gadgets such as your smart phones and cameras. They can seat five to a maximum of seven people and each client is guaranteed of a window seat.
