3 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari
Today after breakfast, you will embark on your journey to the famous Bwindi impenetrable national park. This park is mostly for the rare mountain gorillas and the drive to the park is incredibly scenic, passing through various villages and the lushest green countryside and hills which characterize so much of south western Uganda.
This forest has one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and the diversity of species is a feature of the park. It provides habitat for 120 species of mammals, 350 species of birds, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos, and many endangered species. Floristically Bwindi is amongst the most diverse forests in east Africa, with more than 1,000 flowing plant species including 163 species of trees and 104 species 0f ferns.
Today you go to track gorillas. After a briefing from your ranger guide, begin tracking the mountain gorillas through the ancient Bwindi impenetrable forest. This can take a couple of hours or a whole day depending on the location of the apes. Keep an eye out for the forest species such as butterflies, elephants, black fronted duikers and bush bucks. It is a humbling experience to stand just a man’s distant cousin as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the species they share with it. After you will embark on your journey to Kampala for overnight stay.
You will be driven to Entebbe international airport for your departure flight.
