Itinerary

Welcome to Uganda! On your arrival at Entebbe international airport you will be picked by our waiting driver guide who will transfer you to the hotel in kampala the capital city of Uganda.

After your breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Lake Mburo national park which is Uganda’s smallest national park with 260 square kilometers, a journey that will take approximately 4-5 hours. You will have a stopover at the equator where you will do a water experiment to see the middle of the southern hemisphere and northern hemisphere.

You will also visit the craft shops and proceed to Lake Mburo national park for lunch. Lake Mburo national park is situated approximately 240 kilometers (150 mi) by road, west of Kampala, Uganda’s capital and largest city. The park has a variety of animals such as zebras, giraffes, impala, buffalos, and over 300 bird species. Late afternoon you will have a boat cruise along Lake Mburo. This will enable you to view different aquatic animals and birds along the shores of this lake.

After an early morning breakfast, you will have a morning game drive and animals to be seen include groups of zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and many more.

After you will drive for around 3 hours to Lake Bunyonyi for lunch and relaxation. Lake Bunyonyi is referred to as a place of many little birds and lies in southwestern Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale close to the border of Rwanda. It is one of the few lakes in the region that is said to be free from bilharzia and safe for swimming. Relax as you enjoy the beautiful views, swim, and do private nature walks around the place. Dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will depart Lake Bunyonyi for Mgahinga national park for the Batwa cultural experience a two hours journey. Learn about the different lives of the indigenous Batwa on the Batwa trail. Local guides take you through the 8km gentle trail in Mgahinga gorilla national park, demonstrating their traditional ways of life along the way, including hunting, gathering honey, fire making, and fetching water. The trail culminates with a moving performance in the Garama cave, an important spiritual and cultural site for the Batwa.

After an early morning breakfast, trek through the bamboo forests in search of the rare golden monkeys, endemic to this region. Pass spectacular vegetation and scenery on your way. An optional activity for the evening is the gorge walk or has the whole work afternoon at leisure as you enjoy the significance of the park.

Today after your breakfast, you will embark on your journey to the famous Bwindi national park. This park is most famous for the rare mountain gorillas and the drive to the park is incredibly scenic, passing through various local villages and the lush green countryside and hills which characterize so much of southwestern Uganda. Once you are in the forest park, it is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and the diversity of species is a feature of the park. It provides a habitat for 120 species of mammals, 350 species of birds, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos, and many endangered species. Floristically, Bwindi is among the most diverse forest in East Africa, with more than 1,000 flowering plant species including 163 species of trees and 104 species of ferns.

Today you go to track the rare mountain gorillas. After a briefing from your ranger guide, begin tracking the mountain gorillas through the ancient Bwindi impenetrable forest. This can take a couple of hours or a whole day depending on the location of the apes. Keep an eye out for forest species such as buffaloes, elephants, black-fronted duikers, and bushbucks.

NB: don’t forget to carry your packed lunch. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from the man’s distant cousin as they eat, rest, play, and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest and discover their gorgeous natural habitat and the many species, they share it with.

Today, you will start your journey to the famous Queen Elizabeth national park. The park covers an area of about 1978 km2; its position provides a magnificent view of the rift valley floor that occupies Lake Edward and Lake George. The park has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any national park in the world as its well known to be a habitat for about 95 mammals along with 612 species of birds. You will stay in this park for two nights.

After an early morning breakfast, you will go for your first game drive through the park. Your guide will help you spot the plethora of wildlife found in the park. You will be able to spot a lot of African wildlife for example elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelopes, and many tropical birds after lunch, you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga channel. Here you will see a lot of hippos more than you can possibly imagine as well as variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. You can expect to see: buffaloes, crocodiles, bathing elephants, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtingly be one of the highlights of your tour.

After an early morning breakfast, you will have your second game drive through the Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth national park in search for the tree-climbing lions. The game ranger will help you spot the wonderful animals only found in that national park in the whole of Uganda. After lunch, you will start your journey to Kibale forest national park also known as the capital of the primates. The journey to the home of the primates will take you about 4 hours.

Today you will visit our cousins in Kibale national park on an activity known as chimpanzee tracking. This park has one of the most lovely and varied tracks of tropical forest in Uganda. The forest is interspersed with patches of grassland and swamp, dominant in the northern and central parts of the park on an elevated plateau. The park is home to a total of 70 mammal species, mostly 13 species of primates which include chimpanzees, baboons, monkeys, and many more. It also has over 375 species of birds. You will track the chimps in the wilderness and once you find them, you will be given a full hour with them as you enjoy how they enjoy the wild bond with their young ones and how they spend their lives as if no one is watching.

After an early morning breakfast, you will visit Bigodi wetlands best known for bird watching. With the help of your guide, you will look for different species of birds in this wetland. You will then have lunch and depart for Murchison falls national park which is Uganda’s biggest national park. The journey will depend on the number of stops. On your way to Murchison falls, you will through small villages where you can be able to interact with local people and see tea plantations. You will have lunch en route. While at the park, you will experience the uniqueness of the park because of the rich diversity the wild animals such as elephants, antelopes i.e. waterbucks, and many more. Other animals include; giraffes, hyenas, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and many others.

This morning you will have your early morning breakfast and go for your game drive that will involve eye to eye African animal kingdom: buffaloes, giraffes, lions, leopards, elephants, and a vast number of tropical birds. In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip towards the bottom of the falls that takes up to 2-3 hours on the Victoria Nile. You will then have a chance to spot hippos, buffaloes, water birds, crocodiles, and much more other wildlife. You will then drive back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will visit or hike the top of the Murchison falls and after you will travel to Ziwa rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola for the game walk to search for the white rhinos with an experienced ranger guide. Uganda used to have a wide range of rhinos in the 1960s but the poaching during Amin’s era resulted in the disappearance of these beautiful animals. Rhino fund Uganda was founded in 1998 to reintroduce both black and white rhinos in the country and this objective has been fulfilled. After the trekking, you will have lunch and then travel back to Kampala.
